How are the Governors Involved at  Bredenbury Primary School?

Our aim is to play an important strategic role in school life.  We help to establish a vision for the future of the school within the community through setting and reviewing strategies and procedures to ensure the best possible education for all children. We regularly monitor standards of children’s work and the progress they make.  We also have responsibility for the safety of the pupils and staff. All Governors have a term of office of four years.

The Governing Body consists of:

Peter Gallagher : Chair of Governors
Christopher Garton : Vice Chair of Governors
Elaine Hall : Clerk
Catherine Beadle : Governor
Andrew Freeman-Hall : Governor
Hannah Bufton: Staff Governor
Gillian Miles:  Governor
Sam McAtear: Ex-Officio
Heather Yarnold: Ex-Officio

The Local Governing Board has a membership from both of the local primary schools which it serves.  There is often valuable input from Guest Governors from within the Trust who attend the meetings on a regular basis.
