Welcome to Class 2
Class Teacher: Mrs S McAtear
Learning Support: Mrs C Haynes and Mrs S-J Ruthwell.
We are a brilliant class of 11 amazing learners in a mixed year 3 / 4 class with children aged 7, 8 and 9. In Class 2, we believe that the key to a good learning environment is built through a foundation of trust, respect and safety. These are the key factors to learning in our classroom and we work hard building these relationships to promote a positive attitude towards school. Each child is unique and deserves an approach towards their education which best suits them and we strive to meet those needs every day.
Each term, we read a book of the children’s choosing for pleasure. This year, we have read The Midnight Gang by David Walliams which the children loved!
We have Forest Friday every other week led by Mrs Ruthwell and Mrs Lane in our outdoor learning environment. They use life skills, nature and investigation-based activities to ensure the children have an enriching adventure come rain or shine! If they are lucky, this includes cooking a tasty snack on the campfire to keep them going.
Our P.E. session is currently on a Wednesday led by Miss Jinks who specialises in Physical Education. She is delivering a skill-based series of lessons focussed on ball games this term.
Spellings are given out on a Monday ready for a test the following Monday. You can also find these on EdShed. We also have a times tables test every Monday to get ready for the test in June.
